Purpose of Role
Under Armour is continuing to be an industry leader with its digital and virtual transformation initiatives to streamline both engineering and aesthetic functions cross-divisionally. This specific role, Digital Materials Creator, will focus on scaling, executing materials digitization strategy. Hands-on digital materials creation using the latest tools and technology including… Browzwear, Substance, Keyshot, Gen Ai and Automations.
The strategy will focus on continually building and advancing the Digital Materials Library to support the cross-functional Digital Product Creation process. Due to the versatility of materials and process, this position will enable cross functional work between Apparel and Footwear materials. Daily management of materials and implementation of new processes to scale the virtual materials production.
Your Impact
Work with Materials and Digital Product teams to create and improve the virtual material toolkit seasonally to support the product creation process.
Create, repeatable patterns, texture maps, shaders, drape and package 3D seasonal materials.
Properly categorize fabrics, generate records and QA of existing digital materials and color.
Communicate, and collaborate with global Tier I, II, and III suppliers to facilitate virtual material creation standards and stability.
Work with cross-functional teams to support digital samples quality assurance.
Work with IT team on the continuous building and improving the functions of the Virtual Material Library.
Research, explore, identify new approaches, tools, and opportunities that can improve the existing process such as automation and AI tools.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Extensive knowledge or experience of 3D texture creation, 3D rendering:
Experience using 3D modeling and rendering software (Browzwear, Keyshot, Substance)
Experience creating 3D texture maps and repeatable patterns (Photoshop, Substance, Vizoo-xTex)
Experience with a flatbed material scanners, material drape parameters.
Excellent visual and aesthetic creativity. An eye for photography is desired.
Basic knowledge of apparel materials
Understanding of materials construction types
Understanding the underlying aesthetic impact of materials constructions.
Knowledge of product creation and apparel creation process.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; being able to communicate with global teammates and partners, including but not limit to meeting facilitation and presentations
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse group within the entire organization
