Purpose of Role

Department: Planning    Report Line: DTC Planning Head

The Manager, Allocation is responsible for driving inventory productivity, sales performance, and consumer experience across Under Armour China Brand House (BH) and Factory House (FH) stores. This role develops and executes allocation, replenishment, and inventory deployment strategies to ensure the right product is available at the right location and at the right time. The position partners closely with Merchandising, Planning, Retail Operations, and Supply Chain teams to optimize inventory investment and support commercial objectives.

Your Impact

Allocation & Inventory Management

  • Develop and execute allocation and replenishment strategies for China BH and FH stores.
  • Optimize inventory deployment across stores based on sales trends, inventory productivity, and consumer demand.
  • Manage seasonal product launches, replenishment activities, promotional events, and end-of-season inventory transitions.
  • Drive inventory balancing through store allocations, replenishment, and transfer activities.
  • Ensure healthy inventory levels while maximizing product availability and minimizing stock imbalances.

 

Business Performance & Inventory Productivity

  • Monitor and analyze key metrics including sales, sell-through, stock turn, weeks of supply, size broken rate, and in-stock rates.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and recommend actions to improve inventory productivity and commercial performance.
  • Support demand-driven inventory decisions to maximize full-price sell-through in BH and optimize inventory flow into FH.
  • Develop store and cluster level inventory action plans to improve productivity and consumer experience.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Planning, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Visual Merchandising, and Supply Chain teams to align inventory strategies with business goals.
  • Support key business initiatives, including product launches, seasonal transitions, store openings, and promotional events.
  • Partner with field teams to understand local demand patterns and regional inventory opportunities.

 

Process & Systems Excellence

  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of allocation and replenishment activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve allocation logic, reporting capabilities, and inventory management processes.
  • Drive adoption of best practices and continuous process improvement.

 

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop the Allocation team to deliver business objectives.
  • Coach and mentor team members to build strong analytical and commercial capabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative, data-driven, and results-oriented culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • 5-8 years of experience in Allocation, Retail Planning, or Inventory Management, strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiar with JDA system
  • Prior people management experience preferred.
  • Experience in apparel, footwear, sporting goods, or specialty retail industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs, inventory productivity, and demand-driven allocation strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and inventory management expertise.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
