Purpose of Role
The Logistics Compliance & Claims Analyst (Baltimore Distribution House) leads complex investigations and analysis of chargebacks, shortage claims, and compliance issues across multiple distribution houses. The position exercises independent judgment and discretion in evaluating operational data, identifying root causes, and recommending strategic resolutions to mitigate financial loss and improve process integrity.
Your Impact
• Chargeback Analysis and Resolution. Conduct comprehensive investigations into chargebacks submitted by major retail partners (e.g., DSG, Kohl’s, Academy, Bass Pro, Amazon). Analyze data at the carton and order-entry level to determine accuracy and accountability across departments, shifts, and individual teammates. Provide detailed findings and strategic recommendations to Compliance Specialists for validation or dispute.
• Shortage Claims Investigation. Lead in-depth research into customer-reported shortages, including missing cartons or entire shipments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Routing, Shipping, Exceptions, ICQA) to trace product movement and validate claims. Provide evidence-based reports with the Claims Team for resolution.
• Reporting and Strategic Insights. Develop and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to senior leadership highlighting chargeback trends, financial impact, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Compliance Oversight & Root Cause Analysis. Provide weekly updates to the Compliance Team on root causes of chargebacks. Maintain and update Compliance Standards documentation for all UA customers, ensuring alignment with processing, packing, and shipping requirements.
• Process Improvement and Auditing. Evaluate late shipment chargebacks by analyzing PO timelines, inventory availability, and distribution center performance. Deliver actionable insights to support dispute resolution and process improvement. Design and maintenance of daily auditing and cleaning protocol for the DH Panda system. Monitor label quality and maintenance in manual manifest areas to ensure compliance.
• Operational Audits & Compliance Monitoring. Conduct weekly audits within the distribution houses to identify staging and palletizing errors. Provide recommendations for corrective actions and process enhancements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partner with Shipping, Routing, and Account Services teams to resolve BOL and product information requests. Serve as a subject matter expert on compliance and claims-related matters.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and relevant experience
• Two+ years warehouse operational experience
• Prior experience handling freight claims (loss, damage, shortage, OS&D) and/or transportation compliance preferred
• Strong understanding of domestic and international shipping regulations (DOT, FMCSA, TSA, Customs, Import/Export compliance).
• Familiarity with freight audit processes, claims management, and carrier agreements/contracts.
• Working knowledge of MSOffice with advanced Excel skillset and interpreting data/metrics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities; capable of handling multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work cross-functionally with carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Negotiation and conflict-resolution skills for managing claims disputes with carriers and insurers.
• Ability to interpret and apply transportation contracts, tariffs, and compliance standards.
• Commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement in logistics processes.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work within a team and support team objectives.
• Experience with SAP, WMS, Tableau
Workplace Location
• Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance of the UA Distribution House located in Sparrows Point MD.
• Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring minimum 4 days in-office per week

Base Compensation
$54,404.40-$68,005.50 USD
Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
