Purpose of Role

As a Distribution House Plant Electrician, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of routine maintenance including troubleshooting electrical controls, ensuring proper functionality of all systems, and upholding the safety of all machines.  This involves contributing to safety culture and demonstrating Under Armour’s Core Competencies.

Your Impact

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintains a clean and safe work environment and reports any unsafe working conditions or equipment.

• Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems, electrical and mechanical

• Perform routine maintenance of systems based on machine PM requirements. Maintains an accurate record of all PM activities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materials

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot, control components such as photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, and encoders

• PLC hardware; troubleshoot, CPU’s, backplanes, I/O modules, and Ethernet communication devices.

• Assist site Controls Engineer with daily troubleshooting, repair and upgrade tasks, such as:

o Ensuring all electrical and controls documentation is accurate and up to date

o Reviewing existing equipment and systems to propose upgrades and improvements.

o Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to the distribution operations to determine the fundamental causes of equipment/operational issues to resolve quality and/or productivity issues.

o Identify and implement solutions to solve operational problems on equipment in support of Continuous Improvement initiatives.

o Perform PLC based troubleshooting with read only access to determine the cause of equipment shutdowns when the cause is not readily visible.

o Providing detailed technical training to the Maintenance team when repair procedures or troubleshooting steps are improved.

Qualifications

• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Working knowledge of Maintenance Connection is a plus.

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial control systems using root-cause problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

• Self-motivated with ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines

• Working knowledge of electrical standards (NEC, NFPA 70E/79, UL, ISO, etc.). Other Skills

• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Ability to write simple and detailed technical documents/written communication.

Education and/or Experience

  • State certified Electrician and able to maintain certification required by the state. 
  • Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the mechanical or electrical field.
  • 4 years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field. 
  • Experience and proficiency in the following areas:
    • Automated conveyor systems and controls.
    • Electrical and electronic principles.
    • Blueprint and electrical schematic reading. 
    • Preventative maintenance procedures. 
    • Industrial Electrical. 
    • Industrial controls.
    • PLC programs.
    • Knowledge of N.E.C.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, management, contractors, and vendors. 
  • Ability to work all days and shifts, including overtime. 
  • Must have at least 1 year of recent continuous employment. 
  • Excellent proven safety record. 
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a distribution, manufacturing, production, or facilities environment.

Base Compensation

$31.70 - $47.55 

 

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
