Under Armour makes you better, and Rookies make Under Armour better. By interning at Under Armour, Rookies will complete a comprehensive career experience while making a difference on their team. Continue below to learn more about each component of the Under Armour Rookie Program.
Business roles encompass Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, Human Resources and many more teams in our corporate offices. Working cross functionally, you’ll use analytical, communication and project management skills to find innovative solutions to real world business challenges.
Create a balance between beautiful design and innovative technology for the focused performer. An internship with our Apparel, Footwear, Graphics or Accessories teams means you’ll spend your time integrating performance into every product we design. Rookies will get a behind-the-scenes look into the teams that fuel the creative side of our business.
Students with Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science or Information Technology backgrounds will work alongside our talented teammates to solve technical challenges at a global scale. You’ll work on systems that power our global business, implement technology into apparel, footwear and digital products, and build the front and backend of our mobile apps for e-commerce and Connected Fitness.
Rookies work on a real business challenge throughout their time at UA. Projects deal with real data, customers, technology or design needs and make an impact on the team. Rookies do the discovery, scope out the opportunity, brainstorm solutions, test and iterate on their ideas, and present their work to their team and leaders at the end of their program.
Each Rookie is assigned a mentor during their time at UA to help them through their program. Their mentor is someone from outside their immediate team, who’s there to help them navigate the company, share their experiences, provide another sounding board and expand their professional network.
Senior leaders take time throughout the program to share more about the business, lessons learned, leadership advice, and take questions in a casual format. During these Rookie-moderated Q&A sessions, they’ll take in a lot of different perspectives from Under Armour’s leadership team.
Throughout the program, HR partners offer career development working session for our Rookies, giving them the opportunity to translate their internship experience into interviews and onto their resume or LinkedIn profile. Our experienced recruiters work directly with Rookies to share their expansive knowledge of navigating their career search.
When we do well, we do good. Giving back to our local communities is embedded in the Brand’s DNA. During the program, Rookies will get involved in the community, gaining perspective, and making a difference with non-profits throughout the city.
At the Sample Sale, Rookies design, operate and manage a pop-up Under Armour store at our Baltimore Global Headquarters, and experience the Brand, product and our athletes first-hand. It’s a way we make sure we never forget to sell shirts and shoes. For one week, Rookies step out of their day job, and come together to work toward a common goal and give back at the same time; the proceeds from the sale support local non-profit initiatives.
We’re all about the team inside and outside the office. The Rookie Program Sports League and other social events give teammates and Rookies the chance to get to know each other outside the office, compete, and build new relationships with people they don’t see every day. You don’t have to be a star athlete to participate in any of the programming; it’s about getting together, having fun and connecting.
As a Rookie, we’ll expect you to bring us your best. But in return, we’ll give you everything you need to hit the ground running when it comes to your career. The Rookie program is no longer accepting applications for the 2019 Summer League. Follow @LifeAtUA on Instagram and check back in early August to apply for the 2020 program.
