Purpose of Role

Under Armour is seeking a Sales Planning & Analysis expert for the Malaysia business. The Executive, Sales Planning & Analysis will be joining a rapidly growing brand and division. We value passion, desire, and integrity in our team members. In this role, you will play a crucial part in leading both pre-season and in-season financial and inventory planning processes, with the opportunity to make an immediate impact on the business.

 

This role involves close collaboration with various teams at Under Armour, including Direct-To-Consumer, wholesale account partners, eCommerce, and merchandising, to drive and achieve results. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for generating data-driven insights and managing forecasts that influence sales, margin, inventory turnover, and profitability for the division.     

Your Impact

Seasonal Sales Planning

  • Partner with Key Account Managers and Merchandising team to understand market and account-specific seasonal product strategies, big stories, channel segmentation, etc
  • Develop seasonal demand plans by analyzing historical data and current trends while identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Build seasonal stock & sales plans for key partners to determine sell-in based on projected partner inventory (turn), sell-out potential and gross margins.
  • Partner with Key Account Managers and Merchandising to build and track monthly/seasonal / annual financial and open to buy plans from a top-down and bottom-up perspective and help deliver and track against business KPIs.

 

Business Analysis

  • Create organizational awareness of the importance of point-of-sale metrics (sales and stock mix, retailer inventory, sell-thru, rate of sale, stock turn, margin, etc.)
  • Analyze & report week-, month-, season-, year-to-date trends relative to LY and Plan
    • Provide data-driven insights and weekly commentary on product performance by category / key item/door tiers etc
    • Identify risks & opportunities and drive follow-up actions such as inventory chase & order book management in collaboration with Key Account Managers to improve KPIs.
  • Forecast sales, margin, and inventory turn by month at a category level and communicate business performance during internal and external weekly sales and monthly open-to-buy meetings.
  • Plan and project receipt flow for key items to support sales forecasts monthly.
  • Own and Partner with internal teams to inform data collection process and evolving data needs
  • Create category level quarterly hindsight reports to drive strategic assortment decisions for future quarters and in-season management.
  • Establish relationships with customers and participate in all external go-to-market meetings and provide support in action plans based on risk and opportunities to maximise revenue and inventory goals.

Qualifications

  • University degree in business administration, ideally with Marketing and Sales focus.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales development, planning, business analysis, buying, replenishment, finance or related field (preferably with a background in the retail sector)
  • Strong aptitude in retail math and forecasting methodology - ability to read and apply retail metrics with the right balance between analytical and commercial skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel with good knowledge on pivots and advanced formulas.
  • Proficient in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and customers' profile.
  • Superior analytical, presentation and negotiation skills, self-starter and independent.

  • Location: Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Office
  • Return To Work Designation: Hybrid work arrangement permits working from home on Mondays and Fridays, with flexibility subject to company requirements.
