Purpose of Role
The Senior Account Manager, Wholesale will manage and drive sales for Under Armour in part of the SAPAC region, managing approximately three to four Exclusive Distribution partners.
The Senior Account Manager, Wholesale will be responsible for sales and commercial activities in close alignment and partnership with the UA SAPAC regional cross-functional teams, ensuring that Under Armour’s global and regional strategies are translated to local needs.
This position acts as the primary point of contact for the assigned distribution partners, ensuring that the right brand execution on the ground is aligned with brand strategy. This position represents the entire range of Under Armour’s products, channels, and services to assigned customers, driving the distributor planning and go-to-market cycle and consulting to ensure that assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by Under Armour.
Your Impact
- Inspire purpose and represent the UA brand externally and the distributor partner regions internally, acting as an ambassador across all functions and, conversely, managing all interfaces
- Help shape team goals and drive improvements by leveraging an understanding of the assigned regions and commercial opportunities across all channels, including Wholesale, Pure Players, and DTC, both internally and externally
- Translate and drive seasonal category growth initiatives in accordance with the SAPAC Go-To-Market strategy
- Regularly identify and synthesise sell-out data and the order book, as well as ensure cost-effective and reliable supply and delivery for the account
- Lead the contractual extension process, ensuring agreements are followed and UA yearly financial objectives are met (top-line revenue, in-house margin targets)
- Lead and co-develop distributor strategies by formalising account plans and market share expansion, ensuring UA’s strategy is translated and applied into clear, specific, and measurable goals that drive financial performance
- From time to time, identify commercial opportunities across Key Accounts, Pure Players, and DTC channels
- Drive seasonal category growth initiatives in accordance with the GTM strategy
- Translate and drive SAPAC sales strategic and development initiatives (channel and product segmentation, etc.), ensuring cross-functional internal support
- Manage partner payment terms and requirements, including internal credit line management
- Monitor in-country inventory positions and provide actionable solutions
- Collect and synthesise sales data and industry trends within the market to enable UA to analyse and capitalise on potential growth or forecasted future declines, and communicate local market updates to UA sales management, including competitor activity, customer insights, and political developments
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant sales and marketing experience, or equivalent experience managing multiple competing tasks and demands in a fast-paced, consumer-driven environment
- At least 5–8 years of experience in Key Account Management
- Proven Key Account Management capabilities and strong negotiation skills
- Market knowledge and experience ideally in South East Asia and India
- Proficiency in a second language from the above regions would be an advantage
- Understanding of different sales management techniques and processes
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate, recognise, and resolve issues
- Strong understanding of direct marketing fundamentals and response-driven creative development
- Experience in vertical retailing, freestanding brand store marketing, or store-within-a-store brand and product marketing required
- Self-starter with a positive attitude and the ability to work under pressure in a challenging, fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments concurrently and deliver on commitments
- Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and marketing campaign management capabilities
- Thorough knowledge of the competitive landscape and the ability to translate findings to positively impact the business
